Replay Mode Guide

Replay Mode lets you simulate live market conditions by playing through historical price data bar-by-bar. Practice your entries, exits, and decision-making as if the market were moving in real time.

Pro Feature

Bar Replay is available to Pro subscribers. Free users can view historical charts but cannot use the replay functionality.

Starting Replay

  1. Click the Replay button in the bottom panel
  2. Click on the chart at the point where you want replay to begin
  3. All bars after your selected point are hidden
  4. Use Play or Step to reveal bars one at a time
Reselect Starting Point

While in replay mode, the Replay button changes to "Reselect", allowing you to choose a new starting point without exiting replay first.

Replay Controls

The replay controls are located on the left side of the bottom panel:

Order Panel

The right side of the bottom panel contains the Order Panel for placing trades during replay:

  • Buy/Long - Place a long order
  • Quantity Stepper - Adjust position size using minus/plus buttons or direct input
  • Order Type - Select between Market, Limit, or Stop orders
  • Price Input - Set the price for Limit and Stop orders (hidden for Market orders)
  • Sell/Short - Place a short order
  • Flatten - Close all open positions at once
  • Cancel All - Cancel all pending limit/stop orders
  • Reverse - Reverse your current position direction

The Order Panel is hidden on mobile devices (screen width 768px or below). For full details on the trading system, including order types, draggable orders, linked TP/SL, and auto-liquidation rules, see the Trading Guide.

Replay Timeframe

The replay timeframe controls the granularity of bar-by-bar playback:

  • Chart resolution - Steps at the same interval as the chart's candle size (e.g., 5min steps on a 5min chart)
  • 1min - Steps at 1-minute intervals regardless of chart resolution, allowing you to see sub-bar price movement
  • Example: 5min chart with 1min replay = each step shows 1min of data within 5min candles
  • When switching replay timeframe, the current bar auto-completes to maintain data accuracy

Replay Speed

Speed options control how fast bars auto-advance during Play mode:

  • 20x - Ultra-fast, for rapidly scanning through data
  • 10x - Very fast, for quickly scanning through data
  • 3x - Fast, for efficient practice
  • 2x - Slightly fast
  • 1x - Normal speed (1 bar per second)
  • 0.5x - Slow, for careful analysis
  • 0.3x - Slower
  • 0.1x - Slowest, for detailed price study

During replay, a progressive loading bar appears while bars are being fetched, giving visual feedback on data loading progress.

Trading During Replay

While replay is active, you can place trades using the Order Panel or the Trading tab in the right panel. Key points:

  • Market orders fill immediately at the current bar's close price
  • Limit and Stop orders wait for their price to be reached by subsequent bars
  • Open positions show a draggable badge on the chart at the entry price
  • Pending orders show as lines on the chart that you can drag to adjust the price
  • Your position, orders, and trade history are visible in the Trading tab (Tab 1)

Go To During Replay

Use the Go To dropdown in the bottom panel to jump to specific times while in replay mode. See the Go To Guide for details on setting up Go To buttons.

Tips for Effective Practice

  • Use Step mode for detailed analysis of key moments
  • Use Play at 1x-3x for natural market feel
  • Set replay timeframe smaller than chart to see intra-candle movement
  • Practice at the same time each day to build consistency
  • Take notes on what you observe during replay
  • Use the Trading tab to monitor your account, orders, and statistics in real time

Common Issues

Replay Won't Start

  • Ensure you have a Pro subscription
  • Wait for the chart to fully load before clicking Replay
  • Try refreshing the page if controls are unresponsive

Bars Skip or Jump

  • This may happen with very fast speeds on slow connections
  • Try reducing the speed
  • Ensure your browser tab is in focus
